Meet Shari Woogen. . . .
My husband Wayne and I were both born on Long Island, New York and raised our 4 children in the Princeton area of New Jersey. Then they all began migrating to the Bay Area, 2 for schooling, 2 just because that is where they wanted to be. It seemed like the thing to do, so we joined the exodus. Presently, 3 live in San Francisco and one lives in South Bay – and so here we are!
Having left my position where I worked closely with physicians and patients at a local hospital for over 10 years, I was looking for a change. I spent some time searching for a job that I would feel good about. While partaking in that search, I passed the time learning how to play pickleball, and enjoying other amenities that living in Oakmont provides. I found my feel good job when I landed a position at the Alzheimer’s Association.
I am proud to work for the Alzheimer’s Association. I am the Walk Manager for the Sonoma-Marin Walk to End Alzheimer’s out of the North Bay offices (Santa Rosa and San Rafael). I embrace the vision of a world without Alzheimer’s and all other Dementia. I love what I do, knowing that the funds I help raise go to programs and services right here in the North Bay. Between working and spending time with my grandbabies, there is not much time left for Pickleball but I look forward to getting back to it one day soon!
